On our trip to Taipei we stayed at the Hotel Resonance. This turned out to be an outstanding decision. I had never been to Taipei before so I was relieved when we ended up at a great hotel in a fantastic location. The Hotel Resonance is part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Not that the brand of hotel really matters to me, I just want a good, clean, quiet, comfortable hotel. The Resonance Hotel is exactly that with amenities like laundry that I love during a long trip with a small bag.

Bottom Line: The Hotel Resonance Taipei was the perfect hotel for our first trip to Taiwan. Amazing location near tourist sites, night markets, and public transit. The rooms were very large and modern and the hotel had all the expected amenities, except for a bar.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Location

I mostly chose the Hotel Resonance based on it’s location. I didn’t know the city, as we’d never been to Taipei before, so I used my standard booking rules. Stay in an area with lots of restaurants and near public transit. Here in the Zhongzheng District, we could walk to the Central Train Station and to a metro stop to get all around Taipei.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Exterior

The exterior is really modern and cubist in architecture. The neighborhood is a little bit commercial, but there’s lots of great little restaurants. I especially loved getting breakfast on Qingdao Rd behind the hotel.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Lobby and Check-in

The lobby at the Resonance is very chic and contemporary. Plenty of seating and areas to relax. We started the trip on a weekend and it was quiet, but when the weekdays came around, there we always business people meeting here before heading out for the day.

Hotel Resonance Lobby

The check in process was smooth and easy. I did get a little letter from the staff welcoming me and thanking me for my Hilton Diamond status. My status got us some water and snacks, but there’s no restaurant or bar in the hotel.

Hotel Resonance Taipei King Corner Room

Hotel Resonance Taipei King Corner Room

I was really impressed and surprised when we walked into our King room. This is the corner room, but I wasn’t not expecting the room to be so large.

Hotel Resonance Taipei King Corner Room

For being in a major city, the room was enormous. It was laied out well too. Across from the bed is the TV, bathroom, and toilet room. Next to the door is the closet area across the room is the desk and sofa.

Hotel Resonance Taipei King Bed

The king bed at the Resonance was super comfortable. Both sides of the bed had room light controls, electric curtain controls, and power to charge devices. Behind the bed there is a window that’s a little hard to see out of, mostly because I’m not very tall.

Hotel Resonance Taipei King Corner Room

In the corner of the room there is another window with a sofa in-front of it. There’s also a small table. I don’t really know that the room needs the table, it just ends up cluttered.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Fridge

Next to the sofa there’s a small fridge that has some drinks and snacks included.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Tea and Coffee

There is tea and coffee in the room. Though we didn’t end up using it. The tea shops and cafes in the area are exceptional and inexpensive so we always went out.

Hotel Resonance Taipei King Corner Room

Like most modern hotels, there’s not a separate closet. This corner of the room has a luggage rack and coat hanger rod. Good enough for us as we travel light.

Hotel Resonance Bathroom

Hotel Resonance Taipei Bathroom

The bathroom is divided into 2 different rooms and I’m a fan of that. The larger area had the sink, shower, and tub.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Bathroom

The shower was great, very clean and large.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Bathroom

Over the tub there’s a window so you can look out at the city and take a bath. I’m not really sure who uses tubs in hotels, but if you want to play pretty woman, you can do it here.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Toilet

The other separate toilet room had it’s own sink. This was great so one person can get ready in the full bathroom while the other uses the toilet in private.

Hotel Resonance Amenities

Hotel Resonance Taipei Laundry

When we travel, we don’t often check bags. So when you’re going to Asia for 2 weeks with a legal size carry on, we need to do laundry. The Hotel Resonance had coin laundry that worked great for us. The in room TV even shows when each machine is in use so you don’t walk downstairs and find all the machines occupied.

Hotel Resonance Taipei Fitness Room

There’s also a fitness room across from the laundry. Not that we needed it when we’re walking 4 miles a day exploring Taipei.

Hotel Resonance Final Thoughts

Hotel Resonance Taipei Lobby

The hotel Resonance is a great hotel. Little sterile and soulless, but that’s ok. It’s very clean, comfortable, and has everything I would expect. The rooms are large and well outfitted. We certainly didn’t struggle to fit 2 carry on bags into the room along with ourselves.

The location of the hotel was great for first time Taipei visitors. Easy to get to, lots of great restaurants around, and easy transportation options. 10/10 I would say here at the Hotel Resonance again.
