We were not planning on staying at or writing a review of the Moxy Hotel here at Milan Malpensa, but due to the earlier changes in our trip, we decided to rearrange the last day. Originally we were going to depart Venice early in the day and visit Milan proper. We changed that and ended up driving back to Milan while stopping at Sirmione along the way.

We needed a hotel to sleep at for the night before our flight to Helsinki so much like our delayed arrival, I chose the Moxy Milan MXP. There’s nothing too fancy about the Moxy here, but we just wanted something comfortable and close to the airport. Along with booking last minute, I was also pleased with the rate, less than 90EUR for the night including tax. We did have to pay for parking as they don’t have many spaces. Anyway, let’s get into this Moxy Hotel Review.

Moxy Milan Malpensa Location

MXP Moxy Hotel Location

The Moxy Milan Malpensa is right across the street from the MXP Airport Terminal 2. This location is perfect for an early morning flight or a late arrival. If you’re departing or arriving from MXP Terminal 2, you could easily walk here. We’re departing from Terminal 1 so we’ll drive over in the morning.

Moxy Milan Malpensa Arrival and Check-in

MXP Moxy Hotel Exterior

We arrived on a wet evening here in Milan. I usually adore little Italian cars, however I just couldn’t quite fall in love with this Fiat Panda. It checked all the boxes, it’s a small Italian hatchback with a manual transmission, but for whatever reason, it never felt fun.

Anyway, here at the MXP Moxy we checked in at the lobby with our car just parked out front. We asked about parking and were directed to the lot around the back of the hotel.

I forgot to take pictures in the lobby, but here are the pictures of the Moxy Linate Hotel, it’s was nearly identical.

Moxy Milan Malpensa Rooms

MXP Moxy Hotel Room

We walked into the room and we laughed at how similar it was to the Moxy Linate. Not a huge room, but more than adequate for the two of use for a single night.

MXP Moxy Hotel Bed

The single queen bed at the Moxy MXP was very comfortable. Induvial lights on both sides of the bed along with plenty of charging outlets.

MXP Moxy Hotel TV

Along the opposite wall was the TV and luggage rack. To save space, there’s very little furniture in the room, I kinda like that. I rarely use hotel furniture like dressers or tables I’d much rather just have the space back.

MXP Moxy Hotel Chair

Apart from the bed, the only furniture in the MXP Moxy room was this chair, we used it to hold bags and stuff.

Near the door were several hooks. I like this trend too. It’s a great place to hang jackets and other accessories without having to use a closet. Being a Moxy, there’s of course some trendy art.

Moxy Milan Malpensa Bathroom

MXP Moxy Hotel Bathroom

The bathroom here at the MXP Moxy was pretty standard. Very clean and pleasant.

MXP Moxy Hotel Bathroom

The shower large and outfitted with soap and shampoo dispensers. I know these are controversial but I don’t mind.

Moxy MXP Airport View

MXP Moxy Hotel Room View

The view that evening from the MXP Moxy Hotel was oddly nice. The rain was a light mist and made everything really pop. That is MXP Terminal 2, Easyjet is pretty much the exclusive user of that terminal so the Moxy would be a great hotel choice if you’re flying with them.

MXP Moxy Under Bed Lights

MXP Moxy Hotel Under Bed Lights

Here at the Moxy, there are motion sensitive lights. I’m not sure how to feel about these. On the positive side, they are great so you don’t stub your toe if you get up in the night. The downside is that they were sometimes setoff by the sheets on the bed. I’m not sure if there was a switch to turn them off, I tried to find one unsuccessfully.

MXP Moxy Final Thoughts

The Moxy Milan Malpensa wasn’t a pre planned stop, but was just what we needed. It was funny to review and stay in a hotel that was nearly exactly the same as the Moxy over at the Linate airport across town from us. The rooms here are not huge, but for two people with just carry-on bags, there was plenty of space.

The location of the Moxy cannot be beat for Terminal 2 departures. It’s just across the street and can easily be walked. There is a charge for parking but the lot is gated and easy to access. This hotel is obviously not a destination, but if you have a late flight arrival or an early departure it’s a great option.
