We’re heading to Tromso Norway with Baby Violet for a family vacation. We arrived in Paris on Air France’s A350 in Business Class(Full Review) and we’re connecting to Air France’s A320, also in Business Class. I’m not expecting too much here, Intra-European Business class is usually not very exiting or different from economy. We’ve ridden with Air France on the A220 Business Class(Full Review) and that’s what I’m assuming this flight will be like too.
Flying with a baby is always challenging, but we’re looking forward to being in Norway and having the extra space onboard this Air France A320 Flight is welcome. I would not pay extra for these seats, we’re here because we made a connection from a Trans-Atlantic flight.
Bottom Line: Intra-Europe Business Class on the Air France A320 isn’t anything special, it’s economy seats with the middle seat blocked. I also didn’t enjoy the breakfast but the service from the flight attendant was great. However with a lap infant, it’s very nice to have the extra space.
Air France A320 Boarding
Boarding for our flight from Paris to Tromso started right on time. However, we had to board a bus, go to a different terminal, then board the plane via jet-bridge. I can’t say I’ve ever done that before. It took a while.
Air France A320 Business Class Seating
There’s not a whole lot to report back here from Air France Business Class on the A320. These are economy seats with the middle blocked. This is very common in Europe and what I was expecting.
Leg room is adequate, but again, is exactly the same as what you’d find in economy. There’s also no in seat entertainment so prepare accordingly.
I stowed our bags overhead, there was plenty of space here for our bags along with our travel stroller.
In the arm rest, there is a USB port for charging devices.
Like I said, no in seat entertainment. There is a little cup holder that folds out and can hold your drink, but that’s about it when it comes to seat features.
Air France A320 Push Back and Take-off
We pushed back from the gate a few minutes after our scheduled departure time. I think that’s built into the timetable due to the bus situation here at the gate.
We were given water soon after takeoff, the flight attendant also asked if we’d like to have breakfast. I chose to eat but Val skipped it.
As is pretty normal for these flights, the flight attendant shut the curtain to prepare the meals.
Air France A320 Business Class Breakfast
Breakfast was served all on one plate. There was not a choice of items, there is a single selection. Again, this is common on Intra-European flights.
There was a menu card provided. I’ll be honest, I didn’t care for this meal. The smoked halibut was good, but the grain salad wasn’t very good, in my opinion.

After my meal, I went to the bathroom. There is one in the very front of the plane that I used. I’ve been keeping an eye out for it lately, Air France does have a baby changing table here.
Air France A320 In Flight
The flight from Paris to Tromso was longer than I realized. In the air, this is nearly 3.5 hours so 4 hours gate to gate. Val and Violet both took naps during the flight, I tried to get a little sleep in, but wasn’t successful. Not a lot of views, it’s been pretty cloudy all flight.
Air France A320 Business Class Arrival and Landing
With about 35 minutes left in flight, the seatbelt sign was turned on and the flight attendant began to prep the cabin for landing.
He gave out these dark chocolate bars. I absolutely love these damn things. 68-72% cacao chocolate is just about perfect for me. So good.
As we approached Tromso we got an awesome view from the slightly dirty A320 window.
The Norwegian coastline is fantastic from the air. This time of year with it slightly snow covered is a very cool contrast.
A few minutes later, we landed in Tromso.
And at the gate. More places need glass jet-bridges. Or should I say more places in North America need glass jet bridges. They seem to be nearly common place in Europe.
Air France A320 Business Class Final Thoughts
Very quickly, Air France business class on the A320 is fine. It’s not worth the money over economy, because it’s the exact same seats. You do get a meal and a little extra width because of the empty middle seat.
This flight from Paris(CDG) to Tromso(TOS) is just about 4 hours gate to gate. And honestly, it feels long. Make sure you have some entertainment for this flight, especially if you’re connecting like we were. There is power to charge devices, but there is not onboard entertainment.
One area that was really great is the flight attendant who worked the Business class cabin. He was friendly, prompt, and polite. An area that Air France should improve is the meal, the breakfast wasn’t very good.
At the end of the day I’d rather be in Business Class than Economy on the Air France A320, but I wouldn’t pay for the pleasure.
