Ok, let’s keep this very simple. Do you need a place to stay for a night before or after a flight at LAX? If you answered yes, you should stay at the Homewood Suites LAX.
It’s not a destination, it’s an airport hotel, but honestly, it’s pretty nice. I’m going to be brief with this review, mostly photos and such. We stayed here before our trip to Taiwan on the EVA 777(Full Business Class Review Here).
Bottom Line: I liked the Homewood Suites LAX, you can walk here from the terminal, the rooms are large and clean, there’s a free breakfast. What else can you ask for from an airport hotel.
Homewood Suites LAX Location
The Homewood Suites LAX is about a 8 minute walk from LAX. There are sidewalks the whole way and it’s pretty easy. That’s why I chose the hotel, I can walk here from LAX.

The Homewood shares a building and lobby with the H Hotel but they are separate hotels. The downside is there’s not a whole lot in this area other than the airport and hotels. If you’re staying here, make sure you get a bit to eat before arriving. There is a hotel restaurant and bar, but the hours are a little short, otherwise you’re in for a walk to get something.

If you didn’t want to walk to the Homewood LAX, there is a shuttle bus that picks up and drops off at the airport. It stops at all of the terminals so it can be a little slow to make it’s way around. If you’re at T1, 2, 3 or TBIT, I’d just walk. If you’re at T4, 5, 6 it could be worth riding as it’s further from the hotel.
Homewood Suites LAX Lobby and Check-in

The front desk is shared by the two different hotels, not a big deal, just tell the agent what hotel you have a reservation at. Around the corner there is the bar and restaurant.
Homewood Suites LAX King Room

I booked the Homewood LAX for one night before a flight. I didn’t really need such a large room, but I did appreciate it. It felt like we were starting our vacation.

The room has a full kitchen though with slightly smaller appliances.

While being one big space, like an efficiency apartment, it did have a separate sitting area. I like having a sofa in a room when I’ll be there for a while. A place to sit instead of the bed is nice, but not needed on a one night stay.

The center of the room has the TV and desk. The TV can swivel so that you can see it from the bed of from the sofa. I didn’t use the desk as this is a vacation, not a work trip.

The bed area was nicely separated from the rest of the room, but didn’t have a door or anything. Both sides of the bed had lamps and outlets for charging devices.

Looking back at the whole room.
Homewood Suites LAX Bathroom

The bathroom was clean but somewhat spartan. They know their market, people who need a night away from the airport.

I did like the shower though, I always prefer a standing shower instead of a tub.
Homewood Suites LAX Breakfast

Look, it’s a Homewood Suites near an airport, don’t expect anything too fancy. There’s a free buffet breakfast. I made a bacon and egg bagel. Good enough before we walked back to the airport.
Homewood Suites LAX Final Thoughts
There’s not really too much to say here. There are certainly nicer hotels in the world, but the Homewood LAX airport hotel is solid. You’re not coming here for your vacation in LA, there are better hotels for that(Jamaica Bay Marina Del Ray comes to mind, Full review coming soon).
As boring as it is, I would totally stay here again.
