The second stop on our trip is Oslo. We’ll be staying at the Revier Hotel for a few nights as we explore the city. When looking for a place to stay in Oslo I found the Revier but it didn’t have many reviews. On google it looked like the hotel had just opened and while I love new hotels, the lack of reviews can be a little scary. I booked the Revier based on a few pictures and hoped for the best.

The Revier in Oslo ended up being a great hotel! I was so pleased with our choice to stay here. The location was perfect for exploring Oslo. There are obviously a lot of hotel is Oslo, but I’ve been on a bit of a boutique hotel kick lately and the Revier fit that very well.

The Revier hotel is a little different than most, there’s no front desk. Check in and all other functions are handled by an app. A link to download the app was sent to my email a few days before our arrival. It also included information about the hotel entrance that I’ll talk about later.

Bottom Line: I would fully recommend the Revier Hotel in Oslo. It has everything I’m looking for: Location, Cleanliness, and Space.

Date of Stay: November 2022

Revier Hotel Location

The Revier Hotel is right in the center of Oslo. This is a great little area to stay in if you’re visiting Oslo. There are a few tram and bus stops just a few streets over. It’s also an easy walk to the Oslo Central Station. Overall I was very pleased with the location of the Revier Hotel here in Oslo.

Revier Hotel Exterior and Lobby

The Revier Hotel is located on a pretty quiet street. There are some nice little cafes in the area. You can also see into the kitchen of the Null Null Restaurant that’s located in the Revier.

Revier doesn’t have a formal front desk, the first floor is a cafe and bar. When open, you can use this main door.

After hours there is a separate entrance for hotel guests. The entire check in process is handled on an app and you receive a digital key. There is not a front desk at The Revier.

Inside on the first floor is the cafe and bar. This area also serves breakfast in the mornings and we saw lots of people in here doing work or just enjoying a morning coffee.

There were lots of tables to sit at and relax.

There were a couple little nooks to sit in too. These chairs were interesting, I didn’t sit in them so I cannot comment on if they are comfortable, but I did like the fabric.

In the center of the hotel is an atrium. Our room overlooked this atrium.

In the center of the atrium was more seating. This area was more of a lounge than back in the bar/cafe area.

The Revier isn’t setup like a traditional hotel. There’s no front desk or formal lobby, just the cafe and bar. There are a few restaurants and bars in the hotel.

Revier Hotel Room Review

We walked into our room at the Revier and I was really pleased with the hotel choice. The room was large, clean, and comfortable.

The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. Both Val and I liked it and that’s a rarity. Both sides of the bed had individual lamps and outlets to charge devices.

Also next to the bed were also controls for the room lighting.

Next to the bed was a sort of built in sofa. There was also a table and chair. I enjoy this style of furnishing, it’s extremely practical and also beautiful.

Next to the front door was a closet. Inside was a kettle with tea, coffee, and some glass ware.

Opposite from the bed was the TV along with this unique looking chair. This room at The Revier was very large. I was impressed with the space that we had.

Revier Hotel Bathroom Review

The bathroom here at The Revier, like the rest of the room, was spotlessly clean.

The shower was a little tight but manageable. Getting between the doors and toilet was a little awkward but not a huge deal.

Hotel Revier Oslo Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed our stay at The Revier Hotel here in Oslo. The hotel is located in a great area for exploring the city. It’s situated on quiet street that’s very close to transit options too. The app used for check in and managing our stay worked flawlessly. We didn’t have any issues during our stay.

The room at The Revier was large, clean, and very well appointed. I liked the kinda funky furniture and the built in units were a great use of space. The bathroom was also very clean and had everything that we needed.

I was a little nervous booking The Revier as it was a brand new hotel with close to zero reviews, just like the CasAunoe Boutique Hotel in Olbia, the Revier was fantastic. I would gladly stay here again.
