Ok, let’s do something a little off the norm for Kinda Boring. We’re traveling down to Beaufort Sc for a wedding and we’re staying at the Best Western Sea Island in Beaufort. Beaufort is a little coastal town that today is mostly a tourist destination and military base. I don’t stay at a ton of Best Western hotels, but the Sea Island Inn was very nice. Older hotel that had been renovated, but still a nice place for a weekend destination.
Bottom Line: The Best Western Sea Island Inn is a lovely old school hotel in downtown Beaufort. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable. The location for walking downtown cannot be beat.
Best Western Beaufort SC Location
The Best Western is located on Bay St in Beaufort. Bay St is the main street in old downtown and is filled with bars, restaurants, and shops.
Across Bay St the waterfront has a nice park and walking street. From the Best Western, it’s all an easy walk. This location is perfect for visiting Beaufort.
Best Western Beaufort SC Check In
We arrived in the early afternoon and checked into the Best Western. The lobby is out front, they are very strict about parking so make sure you get your parking pass. As you can see the hotel does have exterior hallways, like I said before, it’s an old school hotel.
Best Western Beaufort SC Two Queen Room
We got to our room and got settled in. We’re here for a wedding and the only rooms available were queen rooms. Normally I would prefer a king, but no big deal.
The Best Western Beaufort is an older hotel, but it’s been nicely updated and then well maintained. There’s only two floors and we’re on the 2nd. The room had a microwave and fridge. We used the fridge to keep our drinks cold before heading to the pool.
Best Western Beaufort SC Bathroom
The bathroom setup is a little odd. It’s divided into two separate rooms, kinda. I’d call one the bathroom and then other a vanity maybe? Well, that’s what we used it for as we got ready for the wedding.
The bathroom was nice and clean. It was an older tub and I do prefer a shower. At least I liked the tile.

As with many hotels that have exterior hallways, the window overlooks the hallway so you probably want to keep the blinds closed whenever you’re in the room. At least our room overlooked the pool.

We’re here for a wedding, but we still needed to kill some time before the celebration. The weather wasn’t amazing when we were here, but we still had a nice time by the pool drinking a few drinks.
Best Western Beaufort SC Final Thoughts
I had never visited Beaufort before this trip and while our goal wasn’t to vacation in Beaufort, we got to check out some of the highlights. The Best Western was a perfect hotel for this trip. The location right in the middle of Bay St in Beaufort was perfect for exploring the old town, getting some meals, and enjoying some bars. The hotel was quiet, comfortable, and clean. I especially liked the little pool area, felt very old school and I really enjoy that.
Best Western is an interesting brand, they have lots of little franchise hotels and not much when it comes to a brand standard. I can’t say I stay at them very frequently, but I’m not usually disappointed.
If I got back to Beaufort, I would stay at the Best Western Sea Island Inn.
