As I continued my work trip to Las Vegas, my final few nights I’m staying at the Resorts World Conrad. I stayed at the Resorts World Conrad a few years ago on a similar trip, but that time I was in a regular two queen room(review here). This time, I’m staying at the Las Vegas Conrad in a Strip View King Suite.
Like always, I don’t buy nicer rooms, I was upgraded to the King Suite due to my Hilton Status. I obviously preferred staying in the Conrad Suite over the standard two queen room, but really, both are solid hotel rooms. This is also one of the few Hilton Hotels in Las Vegas with a Casino.
If you’re staying at the Resorts World, it’s a long way from the rest of the Las Vegas Strip, so you really have to be entertained on the hotel property. I wouldn’t stay here unless I’m going to the Convention Center. In that situation, it’s a great choice due to the Las Vegas Loop(review here). I did have an issue that required me to change rooms, I’ll talk about that later, but the staff solved the issues quickly.
Bottom Line: The Resorts World Conrad is an interesting hotel, it’s new, clean, and massive, but I’m not sure I really like it. All of Las Vegas is fake, but the Resorts World just feels a little bit too fake.
Las Vegas Resorts World Conrad Review
Las Vegas Resorts World Conrad Location
The Las Vegas Resorts World Conrad is located on the very far north end of what could possibly be considered The Las Vegas Strip. So while Resorts Word is on Las Vegas Blvd it’s kinda in a no-mans land between Downtown Vegas at Freemont St and what would be considered the Strip. You’re unlikely to walk from here to any of the other hotels, but Tacos El Gordo is across the street and worth visiting.
The best part about the Resorts World Location is the proximity to the Las Vegas Convention Center. There’s the Las Vegas Loop that can take you there for $4. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommended the Conrad for that reason alone.
Las Vegas Resorts World Conrad Check In

I arrived at the Conrad Las Vegas via the Las Vegas Loop and found my way to the lobby. I was quickly checked in but told that I could only get a single use key. I’m really not sure why, but I was told to stop by the lobby after dinner and they’d get me another key.

There are 4 banks of elevators at the Conrad, depending on what floor you’re heading to. I’m heading to the one on the right. The lobby is behind me and the casino floor is straight ahead.

I headed up to my room and the extremely long hallways that make up the Resorts World tower.
Las Vegas Resorts World Conrad King Suite First Impressions

I walked into the Strip View King Suite at the Resorts World Conrad and I was really impressed. The room is not only huge, but also immaculate. Straight ahead is the living room area, to my right is a half bathroom, around the corner is the bedroom.
Las Vegas Conrad King Suite Living Room

The King Suite here at the Conrad is big enough to be an apartment. The living room is well laid out with a sofa, TV, bar area, sitting area, and TV stand. There are of course various tables and chairs scattered around.

I laughed when I saw the sofa, it’s very similar to the one Val and I have at home.

Next to the window is a small table and chairs.

Opposite the window is the mini-bar and coffee making facilities.
Las Vegas Conrad King Suite Mini Bar

There is a standard mini-bar offering at the Conrad. I honestly didn’t even look at the price list, it’s a QR code above the mini bar.

One addition I really liked was the refrigerator. Most hotels in Las Vegas don’t allow you to store personal items in the mini-bar fridge and will charge you if you do. But here at the Conrad, they provide a small fridge next to the mini bar.

Up top there are snacks and drinks. There’s also “the sexy kit” for those who really want to overspend on some adult items.

Next over is a Nespresso machine, cups, and the ice bucket. It’s a pretty nice little spread.
Las Vegas Conrad King Suite Powder Room

Next to the door there is a half bath powder room. I’m the only person here so I don’t really need two toilets.
Las Vegas Conrad King Suite Bed Room

The king room suite here at the Conrad was again very clean and huge. There’s a king bed, bench, and chaise lounge.

Opposite the bed is another TV, dresser, and luggage rack.

I found the bed to be very comfortable. Both sides of the bed had a lamp and outlets to charge devices. I was excited that there’s a wireless charger built into the alarm clock, however, just like last time, it emitted a high pitch squeal whenever I charged my phone. This happened last time I stayed here to so apparently all of these alarm clocks have the same issues.
Las Vegas Conrad King Suite Master Bathroom

There are two bathrooms in the Conrad King Suite. The full bathroom is located right off the bedroom, but does have access to the living area through it’s closet.

There’s a large soaking tub(that I didn’t use).

There’s a huge walk in shower that does include an overhead rain shower. I’m still not sure how to feel about those, I don’t think I like them and prefer when the shower head is behind me on the wall and not directly above me.

There are a good selection of toiletries but the majority of the products provided are bulk and shared. I don’t care, but I know some people really don’t like this, you always have the option to bring your own.

Attached to the bathroom is a dressing area with a walk in closet. This is where things got bad. I opened the door to the toilet area and was overwhelmed by the smell. I thought something was wrong with the plumbing it was so bad. I was glad I hadn’t unpacked yet as I had to go back down to the lobby and get another room. The conversation went like this:
Me “Is there any way I can get a new room, there’s a really bad smell in my room.”
Agent “Sure, let me look. Is it a sewage smell in the bathroom?”
Me “yes, it is exactly that.”
I don’t think I’m the first person to have this issue here at the Conrad.

You can see how the bathroom, bedroom, closet, and dressing area are all connected.

Through out the room there are lots of little controls. They are for usual things like the lights, but also for the drapes and shades.
Las Vegas Conrad King Suite Strip View

After changing rooms, it was just about sunset and I did get a great view of the strip at night. You can see how far away the Resorts World is from the rest of the Strip.

There’s also a good view of the pool on this side of the building. It did look like a pretty great pool, unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to check it out.
Las Vegas Conrad Casino and Public Areas

The Resorts World is a huge property, but I wasn’t really here to game or play. This is a work trip for me. There are plenty of signs through the property to direct you around the various hotels and casino.

The gaming floor was huge, but not very busy. It is mid week when I’m staying here so it’s not a huge surprise, but I was expecting a little bit more traffic.
Las Vegas Conrad Strip View Suite Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed the King Suite with a Strip view here at the Conrad. The room was huge and clean. But having to change rooms because of a toilet smell is not really a great look for such a new hotel. I also got the feeling that I’m not the first person to have these issues.
Having two full rooms to myself is clearly overkill, especially when I’m just here for work, but I did enjoy the extra space to relax. The location of the Resorts World just isn’t great, there’s no way around it. If you’re looking to enjoy the Strip, you’re not going to be walking there. If you’re heading to the Convention Center, the Resorts World is a good option due to it’s Las Vegas Loop Stop.
While I enjoyed the room, the rest of the Resorts World just feels a little bit off. I know it’s Las Vegas and none of it is real, but this property just doesn’t feel as lively as other hotels. This is my second stay here, I’d gladly stay here again, but mostly because the room is nice, not the location.
