I’m traveling to Chicago for work this weekend. After arriving at ORD I hopped onto the Blue Line and headed Downtown to the Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago. I’ll be staying at and reviewing this Hampton Inn over the next 2 nights. Unfortunately I have to move hotels half way through this trip, but I’ll get into that later.
The Hampton Inn Majestic turned out to be a great hotel for my trip. The location was easy to get to and from. The rooms were clean and modern. The building was a cool old piece of history too. Not that it really matters, but I kinda like that.
Bottom Line: I really enjoyed my stay at the Hampton Inn Majestic and would recommend this hotel if you need to be in the Chicago Loop. Anyway, let’s get into the details of this review.

Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Location
The Hampton Inn Majestic is in a great location for Downtown Chicago. On Monroe Street between Dearborn and State is super convenient to the L trains in Chicago. Getting here from ORD is super easy, Blue Line to Monroe Street, then a quick 4 minute walk.
This is considered the Chicago Theater district. It’s not hard to see why, there are several theaters in the area, including in the same building where the Hampton Inn is located.
Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Exterior and Lobby-Check In

The Hampton Inn Chicago is easy to spot from the street. It’s right on Monroe St. The large marquee for the CIBC Theater is an easy spot on the front of the building.

The lobby is not on the ground floor of the Hampton Inn Chicago Theater. Inside you’ll take the elevator to the lobby level. All other levels are key-card restricted. I arrived very early in the day, well before check-in but they were able to get me a room. Everyone else was checking out. I was expecting to just drop my luggage and head to work, but they took good care of me.
Being a Hampton Inn, these is also where breakfast is served in the morning. Though I didn’t try it, I’m not much of a breakfast person.
Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theater King Room Review

First impressions of the rooms at the Hampton Inn Chicago Theater District hotel are very good. It’s a Hampton Inn so I’m not expecting anything over the top, just a solid hotel. So far, this delivers.

I found the bed very comfortable. On both sides of the king size bed are outlets to charge devices, they are built into the lamps. The pillows were especially good.

Along the wall is a desk that I did make use of during this work trip.

Opposite of the bed is the TV. In the TV stand is a mini-fridge along with coffee facilities.
Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theater District Bathroom Review

The bathroom here at the Hampton Inn Theater District was a regular Hampton Inn affair. Nothing special or amazing, just a nice clean space.

I did like that the shower was a stand up shower without a tub. No curtain to fight with, just nice clean glass.

Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Building History

This was a very cool old building. It has a pretty interesting history that’s more than 100 years old.

Just like the Milwaukee Hilton there is a mail chute near the elevators. This one is clearly not in service anymore but it’s fun to see old features in a hotel.
Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Final Thoughts
The Hampton Inn Majestic is a perfect hotel for downtown Chicago. Great location, easy to find, clean, and comfortable. What more could someone ask for in a hotel. I’m not a huge fan of Chicago inside The Loop, I much prefer the neighborhoods just outside downtown, mostly because I think the restaurants are better, but this is a great hotel.
I love the older buildings that have been well maintained or recently updated, this Hampton Inn is certainly in the category. I also really appreciate the easy accessibility to the L train, getting around Chicago is very easy from this Hampton Inn.
For me, unfortunately this is only a 2 night stay and I have to change hotels. The Hampton Inn Majestic is sold out for the other nights that I need to be in Chicago so I’ll be moving down the street. If I had the option, I’d absolutely stay at the Hampton Inn Majestic again.
