Welcome to Verona. We’ll be staying at and reviewing the Hotel Indigo Verona for 3 nights. I picked this hotel for the location, price, and my previous experiences with Hotel Indigo. Oddly, this won’t be the only Hotel Indigo during this trip, stay tuned for my future review of another Hotel Indigo.
Our initial plan was to stay an additional night, however due to our ITA denied boarding issue in London, we have one less day in Verona. I’m a little bummed about that, but we’ll just have to make a point to come back again. Val is also excited as Verona is located in a good area for some driving day trips. A few small towns on Lake Garda are on our itinerary for this trip.
When planning this trip everything was very last minute, usually I like to book hotels with points I’ve saved from my work trips. Unfortunately when traveling last minute, the good deals on point redemptions aren’t available. So for this trip it’s mostly about just getting a good price on a nice hotel.
The Hotel Indigo Verona turned out to just what we needed for our stay. We could drive and visit the nearby towns while visiting the Verona Christmas markets at night. Anyway, here is my review of the Hotel Indigo.

Hotel Indigo Verona Location and Parking

The Hotel Indigo Verona is perfectly located for visiting the old city center. The hotel is located on Corso Porta Nuova, this is the major road that leads into the city center. The city center is a ZTL or Zona Traffico Limitato. These areas are restricted to traffic and locals who live there. The Hotel Indigo Verona is just outside of the ZTL and a very short walk to the old part of the city.

If you drive to the Hotel Indigo Verona, there is a parking garage associated with the hotel. Just leave your keys and they’ll take care of everything. Well worth the money.
Hotel Indigo Verona Lobby

Walking up to the Hotel Indigo Verona.

The front desk is just inside the front door. We checked in and we’re given a map of Verona and some sights we should check out. We were also told that this weekend is the Verona Marathon, we really had no idea, but events are always a good time.

The first floor was really open and bright. To the right is the front desk, to the left is the bar and elevators to the rooms. Downstairs is where breakfast is served.
Hotel Indigo Verona Lobby Bar

The bar at the Hotel Indigo Verona was a really cool space. It sits in the front of the building looking over the street. As an IHG Platinum member, we were given a few free drinks.
Hotel Indigo Verona Rooms

We walked into our room on the 4th floor of the Hotel Indigo Verona.

We had one king size bed. The décor was great, very eclectic, both old and modern at the same time. It was also exceptionally clean.

The room had a desk area with small fridge, luggage area, safe, TV, and a few goodies.

There was a closet but also a set of hooks near the door. We used the hooks for our coats and scarfs.

The built in luggage rack was nice too. This isn’t a huge room so having nicely organized space is important.

There was a nice little tea and instant coffee setup. Val would have much preferred a Nespresso machine, but this will do for when we don’t go to a cafe.

Not much outside the window, just a courtyard that’s accessible from the lobby.
Hotel Indigo Verona Bathrooms

The bathroom is nice, but nothing amazing. It was very clean and had everything we needed.

I did like the shower and thermostatic valve. We really need to get onto that train here in the US, it’s just better than a regular valve.
Hotel Indigo Verona Final Thoughts
I would love to stay in this hotel again. The Hotel Indigo Verona is a perfect location and space. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. Parking in Italian can be a bit of a pain, the garage made that a non-issue.
I also very much enjoyed Verona as a city. Because of our previous issues with ITA Airways, we missed a night in the city, I’d love to reclaim that time.
The Hotel Indigo as a brand is usually a good bet in most cities. They are somewhat trendy but not pretentions. I don’t usually care about over the top hotel, just a nice place in a good location. Hotel Indigo seems to offer that whenever I stay, Indigo Verona was no exception.

Hi, a question from a hotel room card collector: is the room card a special designed style for Indigo Verona, or just the common style of most Indigos in EU
I had to dig through some photos to remember, but it looks like it’s just a regular key card. Nothing special unfortunately.
Thanks anyway
