Singapore Airlines Business Class is always a treat. Even on their relatively short regional flights around South East Asia, Singapore offers a true Business Class experience that includes lie flat seats and a full hot meal. Today’s flight from Singapore to Bangkok on the 787-10 is only 2 hours. I think I might even like the seats better than the long haul Singapore A350 Business Class (Full Review).
Bottom Line: Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class is top class. The seats are comfortable, staff is amazing, and food is great. There’s really not much more you can ask for on such a short flight.
Singapore 787-10 Boarding

Val and I spent about an hour in the Singapore Silverkris Lounge Terminal 2(Review) here at Changi airport before heading to the gate for our flight up to Bangkok. Singapore Airport is a little odd, there’s security at each gate instead of one main security check point.

Don’t go to the gate until boarding is called, there’s nothing after security. We passed through security and got right into the boarding line. They had just called group 4 and we are group 2 so perfect timing.

Our Singapore 787 waiting to take us to Thailand.

Another view of the Singapore 787. They’re using 2 jet-bridges for boarding today, business class passengers can use the front one.
Singapore 787 Business Class Cabin

The Business Class cabin has 36 seats arranged in a pretty standard 1-2-1 configuration over 9 rows. The Singapore 787-10 is used for dense relatively short flights around Asia. We’re sitting on the right hand side of the plane, both in window seats. This is our preferred configuration when traveling together as we both like window seats.

In my seat there was a blanket and pillow. On the arm rest, inside the cubby, there is a bottle of water, menu, and headphones. There was plenty of space overhead for our bags. I can say, avoid row 16 if you want a window view, it’s missing one of it’s two windows.

We were welcomed with sparkling wine, water, and juice. I choose the water because I’m boring. Next was a hot towel.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Seat Features

I was in an odd numbered row so my seat was near to the window. The even number seats are further from the window and closer to the aisle(for the most part, Singapore skips for 13 so there’s a switch after the first 2 rows). Space is very good in these seats, not as wide as the seats on the A350, but they are angled and recline flight unlike the fold forward seats on the A350.

Space is very good in these seats, not as wide as the seats on the A350, but they are angled and recline flight unlike the fold forward seats on the A350. There’s a shoulder strap used during take off and landing.

Over my left shoulder, there is a little cubby that has the menu, headphones, water, and charging ports. I didn’t use the headphones so cannot comment on them.

The seat controls are also on the left side. Pretty standard stuff to control the seat recline, lights, and flight attendant call button.

The tray table pulls straight out, just below the in seat entertainment screen. I usually like this better than when they swing out from the side, easier to get in and out of the seat when there’s a tray on the table. Unfortunately not so here.

As with all 787’s, the windows here have electronic dimming.

Interestingly, they showed a video to describe the functions of the business class seat. This was done before the safety video and push back from the gate.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class In Seat Entertainment

The in seat entertainment on Singapore is excellent. Large selection of shows and movies to choose from. On the 787, the screens are touch screen, unlike on the A350 and A380 that rely on using the remote. I very much prefer the touch screen to the remote.

With that said, there is a remote provided just below the seat controls.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Menu

Here on the ground the flight attendant came around and welcomed us. She then asked to confirm our lunch order. Val and I had both pre-ordered our meals using the Singapore Airlines “Book the Cook” feature on their website. The menu on these shorter routes is more limited, but still excellent.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Departure and Take-off

With the doors closed, we pushed back from the gate about 10 minutes early. The safety video was shown as we pulled away from the gate.

We taxied away from the gate as I put a show on the entertainment system. Our flight time to BKK is 1 hour 45 minutes wheels up to down.

We took off towards the North East so we climbed out then made the turn towards Bangkok.

I reclined my seat and settled in for the flight up to Bangkok. It’s just under 2 hours between SIN and BKK. The seatbelt sign was turned off and the flight attendants welcomed us.

This is why I prefer these seats on Singapore’s 787 to those on the A350, I can just recline to relax.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Meal

Just about 20 minutes after takeoff my meal arrived. The chicken rice was fantastic. Not as amazing as you’ll get from a hawker stall, but seriously close. I would order this meal 9 out of 10 times.

As you can tell, I loved this meal. Even the dessert was excellent. The flight attendant came around and collected the meal trays and offered coffee, tea, or other drinks.

One thing about these seats is with the tray table out, you cannot leave the seat. When unfolded, the tray table is huge.

I reclined my seat a little further and settled into the rest of the flight. It’s about 45 minutes from landing. I just had a water because I’m boring.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Lavatory

There are two bathrooms in the front of the Singapore 787 for use by the business class passengers. They are a good size and as usual, they were very clean.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class In-Flight

Outside we had a a pretty clear day for flying. It’s February so not really the rainy season in this part of the world.

For the whole flight the business class cabin was nice and quiet. An added benefit of a wide body is the aisle is rarely blocked. On a short flight where the cabin crew is busy serving meals, it’s nice to be able to get to the bathroom.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Landing

Once the pilot announced we would be landing soon, the cabin crew was very quick to prep for landing. We passed through a few clouds as we descended into Bangkok.

We approached the BKK airport and we got a view of nearly a dozen Thai Airways planes that had been permanently parked since 2020. The most notable are the A380s that Thai has removed from their fleet entirely.

Less than a minute later we are on the ground after a perfect flight.
Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Final Thoughts
It’s impossible to overstate just how polished Singapore Airlines service is. These Singapore 787s are excellent business class seats, especially for such a short flight. Other airlines use worse options on significantly longer flights, not Singapore.
Things I really loved were the fantastic seat, excellent in seat entertainment, friendly(but efficient) flight attendants, and very sold meal. I can’t think of anything that would improve this experience. They just nail every aspect of the flight.
