I travel to the Orlando area a few times a year for work. In a previous life, I spent a lot of time traveling to and from MCO. I almost always rent a car in Orlando and so I usually need to get gas before dropping the car back off. Around MCO there are a few options, but there are 2 gas stations that are a genuine scam and you should avoid them. Then there’s a perfect Wawa that’s one block further away, of course you should use the Wawa.

Bottom Line: If you need gas near the Orlando Airport, there’s a Wawa on S Semoran Blvd that is convenient and fairly priced. Don’t use the no name brands that are also on Semoran Blvd.

MCO Airport Wawa

Less than a half mile from the entrance to the MCO airport there is a Wawa. Getting here is super easy, when you get off the 528 toll road at the MCO airport exit, head North on Semoran Blvd away from the airport.

In 1/2mile there is a Wawa on the left hand side of the road. Make a left at the light or pass the gas station and make a u-turn. Once you get gas, leave the airport and head south and you’ll be at the entrance to the MCO airport. It’s a very quick pit stop.

Do Not Stop At Sun Gas or Suncoast Energy

Just before getting to the Wawa, on opposite sides of the street from each other, there are two gas stations. These are named Sun Gas and Suncoast Energy. They are scams. They will gladly sell you gas but will charge you more than twice the going rate for fuel. If gas at the Wawa is $3/gallon, expect the “Sun” gas stations to charge more than $5/gallon.

Sun Gas and Suncoast Energy are praying on tourists who are running late to the airport and don’t pay attention to the price. The Wawa is easier to get into and out of, but is one block farther from the airport.

Do not stop at Sun Gas or Suncoast Energy outside of the MCO airport.

Best Gas Station For MCO Airport

This might seem silly, but I always feel bad when I see people re-filling rental cars at gas stations near MCO that are a scam. There’s a great Wawa just a few hundred yards away. Do not stop at Sun Gas or Suncoast Energy on Semoran Blvd. They will over charge you for gas and it’s not even a small amount, we’re talking nearly twice the price.

If you need gas for your rental car near MCO, go to the Wawa on Semoran Blvd, its fast, convenient, and priced well.
