This is our first trip to Copenhagen and because of it we wanted to stay in a central location so we can check out all the sights. I chose the 71 Nyhavn Hotel in Copenhagen because it had great reviews and looked like a cool old building. 71 Nyhavn Hotel ended up being a great choice for our first visit to Copenhagen.

Bottom Line: 71 Nyhavn hotel was comfortable, quiet, and clean. The location was in Nyhavn right on the water front. There are bars and restaurants in the area along with inside the hotel. The staff at 71 Nyhavn we’re both extremely friendly and professional. We really enjoyed all aspects of our stay.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Location

The 71 Nyhavn Hotel is a fantastic location for exploring Copenhagen. As the name would imply, it’s located in Nyhavn right on the canal and waterfront. It’s an easy walk from several metro stations and the main shopping district is right around the corner.

The street that the hotel on is lined with restaurants and bars. This is a pretty area but is also somewhat touristy. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, we’re tourists.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Lobby and Check-in

We arrived at the hotel early in the morning but we were allowed to check in and go to our room. I was not expecting that, I assumed we’d just drop our luggage then head to a cafe but we got lucky.

The lobby was in the process of being decorated for Christmas when we arrived. On this level there are some sitting areas.

They were decorating for Christmas when we arrived. The lobby was really nice and comfortable, we didn’t really spend any time here, but a few people were getting some work done and enjoying the area waiting for rooms when we departed.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Room Review

We walked into the 71 Nyhavn room and I was really impressed. It was pretty large and was very clean.

The bed was very comfortable. There were outlets on both sides of the bed to charge devices. The bed also used 2 comforters, seems to be pretty common in places like Iceland and Finland too.

Along the wall was a closet area with luggage rack. There was also an Nespresso machine along with a few different coffee pods. In the cabinet was a small fridge.

The bed faced a wall with a TV, desk, chair, and small table. Plenty of space for luggage and coats in this room.

The 71 Nyhavn Hotel was once an old warehouse building. The exposed beams throughout the building were really cool.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Bathroom Review

The bathroom at the 71 Nyhavn was very nice. It wasn’t huge, but was very comfortable. The floor was heated and that was very welcome in the winter.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Room View

We were on the 2nd floor and our room view wasn’t anything special, just the building next-door. the windows were large though, it was nice to be able to check the weather and get some natural light into the room.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Exterior

The hotel is made up of two buildings that are connected on the ground floor. The entrance is between the two buildings.

We were in this building. It’s the corner building and faces the canal and water front. This is a walking street and the 71 Nyhavn Hotel is easy to find.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Bar and Lounge

The 71 Nyhavn hotel had a nice looking bar and lounge on the ground floor of the building we were staying in. In the mornings, this is where breakfast was served.

71 Nyhavn Hotel Final Thoughts

We really enjoyed our stay at the 71 Nyhavn Hotel. It was the perfect base for our trip to Copenhagen. The 71 Nyhavn was clean and comfortable. The location was a little touristy but that’s ok, we got to check out the Christmas markets and enjoy the Copenhagen city center.

We rode bikes around the city and enjoyed our time very much in Copenhagen. 71 Nyhavn Hotel was good value for this time of year. It’s not the summertime peak season so the prices were not out of control, for a boutique hotel I found the price reasonable. Getting to 71 Nyhavn is an easy walk from several metro stations.

Val and I enjoyed our time at the 71 Nyhavn Hotel very much and would be glad to visit again. I whole heartily can recommend the 71 Nyhavn hotel for anyone visiting Copenhagen.
