Another week, another trip to the Cincinnati suburbs. I’m traveling to West Chester Ohio again, but this time, I’m staying at the Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center. Last time I was here I reviewed the Hilton Garden Inn West Chester. I really enjoyed the Hilton Garden Inn, but it was sold out when I booked so I ended up across the parking lot at the Hampton Inn Union Center West Chester.

Bottom Line: The Hampton Inn West Chester is a nice hotel but is still just a Hampton Inn. It’s not an amazing place that anyone would go out of the way to stay at, but if you’re in West Chester and need a place to stay, the Hampton Inn is a good choice.

Anyway, let’s get into this Hampton Inn review

Date of Stay: October 2022

Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center Location

The Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center is located off I75 just north of Cincinnati in West Chester. In the immediate area are a few chain restaurants. You can even walk to a couple if you wanted, I did.

Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center Public Area and Check In

The exterior of the Hampton Inn Union Center is a bog standard Hampton. They pretty much all look like this.

Inside and to the left is the front desk. I used the Hilton App so I skipped check in at the counter and was able to go right to my room with the digital key.

To the right is the breakfast area. In the rear is the buffet area.

Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center King Room Review

Walking into the Hampton Inn Union Center I was pleased with my choice to stay here. It’s nothing special, but the room was clean and modern. Hampton Inn can be hit and miss, this was on the hit side.

I had a king bed. There are induvial lamps and power for charging devices on both sides of the bed. I found this bed very comfortable and the pillows were good too.

Next to the bed was a sofa, it’s nice to have another place to relax instead of just sitting on the bed.

There was also a desk area, this being a work trip I did use it a good amount to catch up in the evenings after dinner.

Across from the bed and sofa is the TV. Below the TV is a microwave and in the cabinet is a mini fridge.

Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center Bathroom

The bathroom at the Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center was clean and large. I wouldn’t say it was luxurious, but it was perfectly serviceable.

The shower was a part of a tub, not my favorite thing as I prefer a walk in shower, but it’s fine for a few nights.

Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center Alarm Clock

Ok, so I love a good alarm clock, and this one is the best, like by far. I’m sure you’re thinking I’m an idiot, but hear me out. This alarm clock is awesome and if I didn’t still have the same alarm clock from highschool, I’d buy one of these.

Here’s why. In the dark, the alarm clock projects the time on the ceiling! How freaking cool is that. I don’t like the alarm clock to wake me up, I just like being able to roll over and see what time it is, there’s something comforting in the middle of the night to see the time.

The alarm clock at the Hampton Inn West Chester is fantastic. It’s just light enough that you can see the time, but not so bright that it’s distracting. This picture was taken in the dark, thanks to the Google Pixel for night sight.

Hampton Inn Cincinnati Union Center Final Thoughts

The Hampton Inn West Chester Ohio is a good hotel. There’s nothing fancy about it, but it’s clean, quiet, and comfortable. That’s really all I want out of a hotel and the Hampton Inn Union Center fits that need.

There are a few places to grab a bite to eat in the immediate area, including a few that are walkable. It’s mostly chain type restaurants, but it’s better than nothing.

Like all Hampton Inn hotels, there is free breakfast in the mornings, but it’s not amazing. I’m more of a piece of fruit or a yoghurt type of person.

I just love the alarm clock though. Seriously, I want this in my own house.
