On a recent trip to New Jersey I had the chance to check out the new Delta Skyclub at the Newark Airport. The EWR Delta Skyclub is a newer lounge that opened in the Fall 2023. I visited the Skyclub in November of the same year, so the lounge was only opened for a few months. While not my favorite airport in the world, the EWR Skyclub is great. Not the best in the Delta system, it’s a great lounge and worth the visit if you have access and time.

Bottom Line: The EWR Skyclub is fantastic. There’s a plethora of seating, the space is large, and the buffet has some upgraded selections that can be easily be made into a light meal. I loved the open space that overlooks the rest of the EWR Terminal A. Clean, modern, and comfortable, the EWR Skyclub is perfect for spending an hour or two before a departure.

Delta Skyclub Newark Terminal A Location

Delta Skyclub Newark Location

Like the name implies, the Terminal A Delta Skyclub is right in the middle of the A Terminal here at EWR. It’s easy to find, there are lots of signs directing you to the lounges that are all located in a somewhat central area. The Delta Lounge is on the 2nd floor, there are stairs here next to Gate A8.

Delta Skyclub Newark Entrance

Once upstairs there is the entrance to the Delta Skyclub. There is also an elevator that runs up to this floor too. It’s unlikely you’re trying to use the Skyclub unless you’re departing from the A Terminal as this is where all the Delta flights leave from. If you are, note that right now, there’s not a good way to move between terminals airside unless you’re riding with United.

When I first walked into the EWR Skyclub I wasn’t super sure what to think, it didn’t feel that large. I was wrong and soon realized that the space is very big, it’s just divided into lots of different smaller areas. Here, looking in from the entrance, straight ahead is the bar area. To my right is the buffet. The bathrooms are over towards the left.

Looking towards the right you can see the different types of seating in this part of the Skyclub. We’re on the second floor so the glass overlooks the interior of the EWR Terminal A.

looking in front of the bar, there’s more seating. As you can see the area is somewhat divided, I much prefer this layout in comparison with what Delta did at the ATL Concourse B Skyclub.

The windows at the very back, near the bar, are the only ones that overlook outside. The rest of the glass windows overlook the terminal.

This view looking down the longest side of the Skyclub. To the left you can see the start of the buffet, the rear left is the bar, and all around is the seating.

There’s a ton of seating in this lounge of all different kinds. I kinda liked these, it’s a sofa looking thing with nice divided spaces and charging points for each person.

There’s also less interesting seating like these chairs.

Then near the buffet there are standard low top cocktail tables. This is where I settled as I wanted to get a little bite to eat.

Delta Skyclub Newark Bar and Drinks

Delta Skyclub Newark Bar

The bar at the EWR Skyclub is very trendy and nice. There are a few local draft beers that rotate along with some more standard options. Delta has lots of free drink options alongside some more premium paid options. You can check out what’s available on the Delta Website.

Delta Skyclub Newark Drinks

While not really the bar, I’ll put self service drinks into the same catigory. Near the buffet there is soft-drink section with tea, soda, and a coffee machine. There’s also a flavored water machine that also makes flavored seltzers.

Delta Skyclub Newark Drinks Coffee

A little further down there is regular brewed coffee along with a ton of different flavored syrups.

Delta Skyclub Newark Buffet

Delta Skyclub Newark Buffet

Here’s where the EWR Skyclub really shines, the buffet is actually good. There’s a good selection of hot and cold items.

The buffet starts with soups, when I visited there were 2 types of soups along with fresh rolls and them some toppings.

Moving down the buffet there is a selection of cold items like salami, cheeses, and then salad.

There are a couple of cold mixes salads if you didn’t want to make your own.

Next in the line were some sandwiches.

At the end of the line were the hot options. Nothing groundbreaking here, this isn’t a full made to order kitchen, but if you were hungry and wanted a light meal, you can find it here.

I settled at my table with a small plate and a coke. I really like that Delta is using real cutlery instead of disposable, not only is it nicer, but it also helps reduce the waste from disposable.

Delta Skyclub Newark Bathrooms

Delta Skyclub Newark Bathrooms

The EWR Skyclub bathrooms are down a hallway next to the bar. There’s a lot of signs and they are easy to find.

Delta Skyclub Newark Bathrooms

What I thought was nice is they are “All Gender” bathrooms. In the hallway there are just 8 bathrooms that anyone can use.

Delta Skyclub Newark Bathrooms

Inside it’s just a bathroom and is very private. No sharing of space at all, just take care of your business in privacy and peace. The bathrooms were also extremely clean and I always appreciate that.

Delta Skyclub Newark Final Throughts

There’s a lot to like about the EWR Delta Skyclub. The lounge is huge, the space is clean, and the buffet is solid. If you come here hungry you’ll be able to get a nice sized plate. I don’t think it’s the best Delta Skyclub, in my opinion, that’s the SLC Skyclub(Review Here), but the EWR Skyclub is a solid top 5 Skyclub.

I really like the different kinds of seating in the Skyclub. There’s everything from work desks, lounge chairs, bar tops, and cafe tables. The best part was how the space was divided, it’s not just one big room, the lounge feels like it has real spaces. This is a big improvement over some Delta lounges in the past.

I’d gladly visit the EWR Skyclub when flying out, it’s a solid lounge.
