While flying out of PHL Airport recently, I rode on the Concourse F Shuttle. The PHL Concourse/Terminal F shuttle is a bus that connects the rest of the airport to the relatively distant Concourse F. The primary users of the Concourse F Shuttle will be American Airlines passengers who are connecting to or from an American Eagle Regional flight out of the F Concourse where they operate from. American Airlines mainline flights use Concourse A, B, and C, on the other side of the airport.
Bottom Line: The Shuttle is fast and easy, while you can walk between all of the Concourses after passing through security, I’d recommend the PHL Terminal F shuttle.
Airport Concourse F Shuttle Review
PHL Airport Concourse F Shuttle Routes
The Concourse F Shuttle at PHL Airport is air-side, meaning it’s after security. It has 2 routes, between Concourse A and Concourse F. Then a second route between Concourse B/C and Concourse F. These are huge time savers as the walk between A and F Concourse is more than a mile. American Airlines uses the A, B, C, and F concourse, if you’re making a connection between American Eagle and AA Mainline, you’ll probably end up on the F Shuttle.
In the A Concourse, the shuttle stop is between the A Concourse and the B Concourse. On “outside” of the walkway there is an escalator down to the shuttle stop. The C Concourse Stop is in the hallway between the C and D Concourse. Again, on the “outside” of the walkway there is an escalator.
PHL Airport Concourse F Shuttle Time
The longest route is the Concourse A to Concourse F trek. From door to door this takes less than 7 minutes. The shorter Concourse B/C to F route takes about 5 minutes. The shuttle busses run frequently and there’s usually one waiting in the stop at each.
PHL Airport Concourse F Shuttle Locations

There are 2 shuttle stops for the F Concourse Shuttle. One is between the A and B Concourse. The other is at the C concourse. There are lots of signs that will direct you to the F Concourse Shuttle.
Using the PHL Airport Concourse F Shuttle
Using the F Shuttle is easy and I would not recommend walking instead of using it.

First, find the entrance to the nearest shuttle stop. These are very well marked with plenty of signage.

Take the escalator down to the boarding area. These do use busses for this shuttle service so you need to get to ground level.

Outside there was a bus waiting to take me, and only me, to the F Concourse. There’s usually a bus waiting at each station and they leave when another one is close or approaching.

Onboard the bus is nothing special. These are a low floor bus so there’s very little step up. They are also wide so there’s lots of space for people to sit, stand, and their luggage.

On this trip, I was the only passenger heading to the F Concourse.

While riding on the PHL Concourse F Shuttle Bus, you get a great view of the aircraft waiting at the gates. I love this perspective of airplanes. It really shows the scale of even small planes.

Just 3 minutes later we were approaching the PHL Terminal F.

And into the F Concourse. So I went from the A Concourse to the F Concourse in about 7 minutes. The walk would have been more than 25 minutes. If you need to go from F to A or B/C just reverse the route.
PHL Airport Concourse F Shuttle Final Thoughts
Using the PHL Airport Concourse F Shuttle is a no brainier. It’s a fast and easy way to get between the F Terminal at PHL and the rest of the airport. It’s important to remember that all of the routes are direct. Don’t get on at the A Concourse and expect to get off at the C Concourse, you’re going all the way to F.
The F Concourse is used by American Eagle regional jets and Concourse A,B, and C are used by mainline American Airlines flights. The shuttle provides a fast connection between those areas.
