There’s nothing special about a Fairfield Inn located next to the Mall of Georgia. Val and I are going to see Oppenheimer in the 70mm IMAX format. It’s only being showed in 19 theaters in the US and one of them is the Regal Mall of Georgia, about a 90 minute drive from our home in Greenville. Not wanting to drive down and back, after a 3 hour movie, we got a hotel near the theater. I mostly consider this caliber of hotel a commodity. There’s very little difference between the mass-market brands offered by Hilton, Marriott, and IHG.
I chose the Fairfield Inn Mall of Georgia almost exclusivity because of price. There’s a few options in the area and the Fairfield is the cheapest.
Bottom Line: All we needed was a clean place to sleep for the night and the free breakfast was good enough to keep us full for the ride back home. This Fairfield was good enough, nothing remarkable and a little worn, but clean and serviceable.

Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia Location
The Fairfield Inn, as the name implies, is right across from the Mall of Georgia. That’s the only reason we chose this hotel, it’s close to the movie theater. In the area there’s no shortage of chain restaurants and of course the Mall itself is a major draw for the area.
Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia Check-in
Before the movie we stopped at the hotel to check in. It’s about a 5 minute drive from the theater and we’re a little early for our evening showing of Oppenheimer.
We checked in at the front desk. Marriott really needs to catch up with Hilton and offer mobile check-in at more properties.
The lobby was clean and open. We were told about the breakfast hours and that there is coffee and tea available here 24/7.
I find little areas like this kinda silly. Not in a bad way, just that they exist at all.
Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia King Room Review
On first impression of the king room here at the Mall of Georgia Fairfield I was pleased enough. The rooms are very large, but clearly this is an older hotel. Nothing wrong with that, just something to note.
The room was divided into two areas. I like when rooms have a separate sitting area for relaxing apart from the bed.
Across from the sofa is the desk area. This is a very large space, plenty big for setting up and getting some work done.
The king bed was comfortable and clean. There are also outlets for charging devices on both sides of the bed.
Across from the bed is the TV. Nothing fancy here, the TV can swivel to face the sofa if you’re hanging out there.
Near the front door, there is a coffee maker.
Below the coffee maker, there is a fridge and microwave.
Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia Bathroom Review
Again, this Fairfield isn’t a brand new hotel, but the bathroom was clean. It’s starting to show a little bit of it’s age though.
I do like the shower instead of a tub.
While the bathroom was very clean, it’s little details that show some age.
Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia Room View
The Fairfield is in suburban Georgia, if you’re expecting anything except a boring parking lot, overlooking another hotel, you weren’t paying attention.
Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia Breakfast
In the lobby breakfast area there is coffee available at all hours.
Breakfast is a standard Continental affair with a few hot items. There’s also a make your own waffle area.
There’s a selection of hot and cold cereals. The breakfast area was kept very clean and well stocked while we were here grabbing a bite to eat.
I’m not much of a hotel breakfast eater, but we’re surrounded by chain restaurants anyway. The Fairfield breakfast was perfectly acceptable.
Fairfield Inn Mall Of Georgia Final Thoughts
The Fairfield Inn at the Mall of Georgia is a generic commodity hotel. While being an older building, the hotel is well maintained and clean. It’s starting to show some age, but if it’s the cheapest hotel I’d gladly stay here again.
The biggest draw from this area is certainly the Mall of Georgia. That’s why we’re here, to see a Oppenheimer at the Regal. I can wholly recommend seeing Oppenheimer in the 70mm IMAX format. The Regal Theater here at the Mall of Georgia is great too. If you need a hotel near the Mall of Georgia, no reason not to stay at the Fairfield.
