The Air France Salons (Lounges) at CDG are pretty pleasant places to spend some time between flights. The Air France Lounge in Terminal 2G isn’t the nicest lounge in the world, but it’s clean, has decent food options, and is more relaxing than sitting in the CDG 2G terminal. The CDG 2G terminal is a little odd, it feels like a temporary building that’s become a little too permanent. The Air France Terminal 2G Lounge feels a little nicer than the rest of the terminal.

CDG Terminal 2G services Air France short haul flights with the regional flights mostly on ERJ 170/190 aircraft. Here at 2G, there are no seats at the individual gates so just wait for your gate to be displayed on the board and then you can walk from the lounge to the gate.

Bottom Line: CDG 2G is a Schengen area terminal, but the Air France Lounge here is nowhere near as nice as the Air France Salon in Terminal 2F(Review here), but I do like the 2G Air France lounge, it’s just not as good as 2F.

Air France CDG Terminal 2G Lounge Location

Air France Salon CDG Terminal 2G Entrance

The Air France 2G Salon Lounge is located in the center of the 2G terminal here at CDG. When you arrive at the terminal via bus, you’ll walk up stairs. To the right you’ll see the entrance to the Air France Lounge.

After checking in to the Air France Lounge at the self service kiosks, we walked into the large lounge space. You can see pretty much the entire lounge from here. To the left are the bathrooms. Ahead is the seating area. Off to the left is a work space area with large conference style tables. Near the rear and on the left is the buffet and self service bar.

Most of the seating in the Air France 2G Salon is made up of these low slung chairs. These ones are towards the front of the lounge.

Looking back towards the front of the lounge you can see most of the low seating in the lounge. The good news is that there are plenty of power outlets in the tables.

Looking towards the bar and buffet. The Air France Lounge here at 2G is just one large corridor.

Along the wall is a conference room style table that has these dividers to make it into multiple work spaces.

Air France CDG Terminal 2G Lounge Buffet

We visited the Air France Lounge at 2G just around the transition from breakfast to lunch. At the beginning of the buffet were all sorts of pastries and breads. There was also a hot soup option.

Further down the buffet was a salad selection and lots of cold plate options like fruit, charcuterie, and cheese. I didn’t see many hot options here at the Air France lounge.

Air France CDG Terminal 2G Lounge Self Service Bar

There was a self service bar that was not too impressive. As always, one of the most disappointing parts of European lounges is the beer, only Heineken. There was also a selection of soft drinks, coffee, and water.

We got a nice seat with a view behind us looking out at the gate area. This is pretty much an ERJ 170/190 outpost. It’s fun seeing the little planes in the full Air France livery, lots of these also have the HOP livery.

Air France Salon CDG Terminal 2G Snack

I wasn’t too hungry, but I did get a snack. Just a salad, bread, and some meats. I didn’t want to fall back asleep so I had a Coke.

Air France CDG Terminal 2G Lounge Final Thoughts

The Air France CDG Terminal 2G Lounge isn’t anything amazing, but if you have access and the time, it’s certainly worth the visit. The rest of the 2G terminal isn’t very big and it’s much more comfortable to be in the lounge. Because of the design of the CDG 2G terminal, you’re not ever far from the departure gates. When your gate information is displayed on the board, you can walk to your gate.

The buffet selection was adequate but nothing amazing. It was well kept and nothing was lacking, just the selection was mostly cold stuff, enough for a nice heavy snack but not a meal. The self service bar had enough options, but the beer selection was lacking.

If you’re departing from the 2G terminal on a regional flight the Air France lounge is a nice spot to spend about an hour.
