Our trip to Fairbanks had a long layover, so while in MSP we decided to check out both Skyclubs. 4 hour layovers are like that, I get board sitting in one place for that long. After spending about 2 hours in the F Concourse Skyclub, we made our way over to the C Concourse, that is where our FAI flight is departing from.

In the C Concourse there is another Skyclub that I had never been to. The Concourse C Skyclub is smaller than the F Concourse, but it’s also less trafficked. This is a quieter part of the MSP airport with fewer flights.

With MSP being an old Northwest Hub, the C Concourse Skyclub is a classic Northwest club. It’s pretty easy to spot those clubs among the Skyclubs. It’s especially easy here at MSP as there are two Skyclubs, one is the modern Delta theme and the other is classic Northwest. Anyway, let’s get into this Skyclub Review.

Date of visit: September 2022

MSP Concourse C Delta Skyclub Location

The Delta Skyclub in the MSP C Concourse is located between gates C11 and C12. MSP has tram that speeds up getting around the airport. There is a stop just across from the Skyclub.

Here’s the exterior of the MSP Concourse C Skyclub. You’ll notice how different the exterior is, classic Northwest instead of Delta.

MSP Concourse C Delta Skyclub Interior

Inside, this Skyclub feels a lot like the smaller A Skyclubs at DTW or the B/C concourse DTW Skyclub. In the main area there are comfy chairs and small tables.

Down a hallway are bathrooms, a business work area, with a buffet at the end. At the end is also a TV, high top tables, and fire place. This is a Northwest Skyclub.

Through the main area are some snack stations along with coffee. There’s also a bar.

Again more seating and fireplaces.

MSP Concourse C Delta Skyclub View

Unlike the MSP Concourse F Skyclub, here at the C Concourse, there’s a great view of the runway and a few gates. We settled ourselves in this area to have a drink and relax while waiting for a flight.

MSP Concourse C Delta Skyclub Buffet

This is where the C Concourse Skyclub falls behind the F Concourse. The Buffet isn’t as large and so it has a much more limited selection. We had already eaten in the F Concourse so it wasn’t a big deal.

What MSP Skyclub is best?

MSP is a major hub for Delta Air Lines and as such, it has two Skyclubs. The one in Concourse F is larger, newer, and uses the modern Delta styling. The one in Concourse C is older, slightly smaller, and is the classic Northwest style.

If the goal is a better meal, then the F Concourse Skyclub is the better choice. It’s buffet is very good, obviously it’s not a 5 star restaurant, but for an airport lounge, it’s more than adequate. The C Concourse Skyclub has a somewhat limited buffet. There are some hot items, but it’s not much.

Both bars are good at the MSP Skyclubs. The on in F is larger, but they serve very comparable items.

I think both clubs have diverse and comfortable seating, but keep in mind the F Concourse Skyclub is newer so it tends to be a little bit better condition.

Where the C concourse Skyclub really outshines the one in F is the view. The F Concourse club has no view of the planes where the C Concourse one has a great view. If you’re just looking for a drink and a snack, consider hanging out in the C Skyclub, the view is very good.

The F concourse Skyclub tends to be much busier than the one at C. I think this is because more flights depart from that area. So if F is crowded and you’re flight is leaving from C, head over to C.

Neither MSP Skyclub is bad, they are just different.

MSP Concourse C Delta Skyclub Final Thoughts

Here at MSP the C Concourse Skyclub is a great place to spend a little time before a flight. It has great runway views, classic Northwest Airlines styling, and lots of space. It even has the old school fireplaces that were common in Northwest clubs.

Where it’s lacking is the buffet selection and size. You could make a meal out of it, but really it’s just snacks. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. The C concourse Skyclub also seems to have less traffic making it a little more quiet than other Skyclubs. A very welcome feature.

After spending just over an hour in the Skyclub, it was time for our flight up to Fairbanks.
