On our trip to Alaska we had a somewhat long layover in MSP. This layover was long enough to check out both of the Delta Skyclubs here. This review is of the MSP Concourse F Skyclub. Here’s a review of the MSP Concourse C Delta Skyclub.

MSP is a major hub for Delta that was inherited from Northwest Airlines when they merged in the 2000s. The F Concourse Skyclub is the largest Delta Lounge here at MSP and is also the most trafficked. It’s also the newer of the two Skyclubs at MSP.

MSP a nice airport for connections, it’s pretty compact and easy to navigate. It’s also nice and modern and the Concourse F Skyclub fits this category too.

MSP Airport Concourse F Skyclub Location

The MSP Airport Delta Skyclub is located at the base of the Concourse F Pier. If you’re departing from the D, E, or F this is the closest Skyclub.

Just next to the elevator up to the mezzanine is the entrance to the Skyclub. This is right off the main hall and very well marked.

MSP Concourse F Skyclub Space

The MSP Skyclub is a large space on 2 different levels. Walking in, you’re on the upper level looking down on the lower.

Straight ahead is the bar and buffet. On this upper level most of the seating is high top bar seating. But in the back near the buffet are some low top 2 tables. This is a good area to sit if you’re going to be eating a meal as you have a real table.

These bar type seats are great if you’re solo and want a place to get some work done or eat. As you can see, the Skyclub lower level is mostly lounge type chairs and other comfy seats. This isn’t as good for working or eating but is great for lounging.

Down on the lower level there are TVs and lots of seating. There isn’t a great view of much though. Just the backside of the F Concourse.

MSP Concourse F Skyclub Buffet and Bar

The MSP Skyclub Buffet is very good. Lots of hot and cold food options. There’s a salad bar with plenty of meats and cheese. Two different soups were served. The bar at the end had the standard Skyclub selection including a few draft beers.

I made myself a plate of BBQ style brisket, pasta salad, potato salad, cheese curds, and some salamis.

What MSP Skyclub is Best?

MSP is a major hub for Delta Air Lines and as such, it has two Skyclubs. The one in Concourse F is larger, newer, and uses the modern Delta styling. The one in Concourse C is older, slightly smaller, and is the classic Northwest style.

If the goal is a better meal, then the F Concourse Skyclub is the better choice. It’s buffet is very good, obviously it’s not a 5 star restaurant, but for an airport lounge, it’s more than adequate. The C Concourse Skyclub has a somewhat limited buffet. There are some hot items, but it’s not much.

Both bars are good at the MSP Skyclubs. The on in F is larger, but they serve very comparable items.

I think both clubs have diverse and comfortable seating, but keep in mind the F Concourse Skyclub is newer so it tends to be a little bit better condition.

Where the C concourse Skyclub really outshines the one in F is the view. The F Concourse club has no view of the planes where the C Concourse one has a great view. If you’re just looking for a drink and a snack, consider hanging out in the C Skyclub, the view is very good.

The F concourse Skyclub tends to be much busier than the one at C. I think this is because more flights depart from that area. So if F is crowded and you’re flight is leaving from C, head over to C.

Neither MSP Skyclub is bad, they are just different.

MSP Concourse F Skyclub Final Thoughts

The Concourse F Skyclub here at MSP is a very nice place to kill some time before a flight. It’s large and bright with plenty of seating. Just note, that it can get crowded at peak times, mostly the afternoons.

The food selection was good, for a Skyclub, as were the drink selections. I liked the diversity of seating, we had lunch while sitting at a table then moved to some comfy chairs to relax.

While this is an old Northwest hub, this Skyclub is decidedly a Delta club. It has the feel of most Skyclubs of the era.

At the end of the day, I’d gladly come back to this Skyclub.
