Delta has a complicated relationship with the Cincinnati airport. CVG has been lots of things to Delta in the past, but currently it’s just a regular airport. It has more flights than most, but CVG no longer holds hub or even focus city status. One great thing about the CVG airport is the large Delta Skyclub. I had a few minutes to kill before my flight and I needed a space to jump onto a meeting the CVG Skyclub was perfect.
The CVG Delta Skyclub is very much an old school Skyclub. If you travel enough, you’ll be able to tell what clubs are ex-Northwest clubs, like Detroit, and what were always Delta Skyclubs. The newest and the remodeled clubs have their own feel too. The Cincinnati Skyclub is classic Delta, and that makes sense, this was once the second largest Delta hub. While not many people make Cincinnati connections anymore, the Skyclub is pretty great. Let’s get into the CVG Airport Skyclub review.
Date of visit: August 2022
CVG Airport Delta Skyclub Location

The CVG Delta Skyclub is located in the B Concourse. Just off the central atrium right next to gate B14. The Skyclub is on the upper level so inside these doors is an elevator and set of stairs to take you into the lounge.
CVG Airport Delta Skyclub Check-in

At the top of the stairs is the Skyclub check in desk. Unlike the ATL skyclubs, CVG is nice a quiet. No stupid line or mobbed bar and buffet. I checked in at the desk and asked the agent if there was a quiet place I could go and take a meeting. He directed me to a super old school work space in the back, I’ll talk about those later.
CVG Airport Delta Skyclub Lounge Reivew

This Skyclub is massive. It’s not SLC Skyclub huge, but for a (sadly) non-hub outstation, this place is giant. On the right is the check in desk along with the buffet. In the back is the bar. To the left are lots of seating areas, then along the windows is another room with more seating. Back to the left is another seating area that’s darker and more quiet. Behind the entry stairs are the workspace cubicles.

Lots of different types of seating here at the CVG Skyclub. Lime much of the lounge, this area was relaxed and finding a seat was easy.

On the other side of the glass is again more seating, this area was my favorite as the seats were comfortable and the plane viewing through the window was very good too.

I had just eaten lunch before coming to the airport so I just had a desert of banana pudding.
CVG Skyclub Buffet

The Skyclub Buffet is divided into two areas. This area had a cold salad selection along with cold sandwiches.

Then the second buffet had a large selection of hot items. Today they had a make your own taco bar, along with several soup options. As I said, I didn’t eat lunch here today, but this is pretty standard Skyclub fair.
CVG Skyclub Bar

Along the back wall is the Skyclub bar along with a self service coffee station. Because I’m boring I didn’t have a drink, I’m still working after all.
CVG Airport Delta Skyclub Workspace Cubicles

Behind the stairs that lead up to the Skyclub, there is a super quiet work space. This is very old school. Yes, every single one of these cubicles has a phone jack. Several even still had phones, but most had been removed.

This was perfect for me. Just me and one other person were back here taking calls/meetings. Because both of us had headphones it was still very quiet and easy to get some work done. Fortunately the Wi-Fi was good and I didn’t need to use the modem jack, not that I could anyway.
Cincinnati Airport Skyclub Final Thoughts
This is a great Delta Skyclub. I really wish they were all like this. Large space, great staff, perfect work space to keep people working away from those relaxing. It’s fun to see the old Delta clubs. I’ve been in a lot of ex-Northwest lounges, these Delta ones are becoming more rare.
The food selection was good, even if I just had desert. The lounge wasn’t crowded and unpleasant like most are these days. The Skyclub is also in a perfect location, right in the middle of the Delta concourse here at CVG. It’s no more than a 5 minute walk to any gate that Delta uses.
I’d gladly come back here a burn a few minutes before a departing flight.
