So this one is really lame. It’s a generic Hampton Inn, in an Atlanta suburb. It’s not even a nice room, two queen beds, second floor. I didn’t even fly here, the Toyota Camry rental was probably the least boring part of the trip, how lame is that.

Well here’s how I started my day. I don’t much like driving to Atlanta, but I’m obviously not going to fly.

Anyway, after work I went to my hotel. This is an older(1990s) building, but has been recently renovated. Perfect for the single night I need to be in the area. These older hotels that have been renovated are usually a solid choice. Hampton Inn usually does ok with it. This particular one is a better one.

I had 2 queen beds. Plenty of outlets around the bed, but only on one side.

Alarm clock. I like a real alarm clock. I don’t use it for an wake up reminder, but I like to be able to see a clock while I sleep.

Desk, TV, and mini fridge. All perfectly usable for the stay. I didn’t need to use the desk this trip, but the TV had a sleep timer that I also like.

Another real thermostat. Easy to use, I’m really lame and like that. I also very much liked this coat rack. It would also be perfect for if you have a suit or nice attire you want to hang after ironing or when you first arrive to try to prevent wrinkles. My shitty old jacket works here too. There was also a closet, if you had more than the one garment to hang.

Pretty normal bathroom. Very clean and modern. I do prefer a sliding door on the shower, but it’s a Hampton. Good enough.

Ok, so here’s the best reason to visit Acworth. Henry’s Grill is amazing. I’ve been here a few times over the years. It’s great, good food, very friendly, and several Abita Beers on draft. Go early, even on the Wednesday at 5:45 I arrived, there was a wait for a table. I almost always sit at the bar anyway, so I found a seat, but it’s about the only thing going in Acworth.

I had the shrimp etouffee, but everything I’ve ever eaten at Henry’s has been fantastic.

So let’s bring it back down to boring with a picture of a Hampton Inn hallway. So perfectly acceptable hotel, clean, where I needed to be, quiet. Exactly what I needed.
