Welcome to the Downtown Orlando Marriott. We had a wedding to attend in Winter Park Florida and I we wanted to find a somewhat close hotel so we can take Lyft to the wedding and not worry about driving. I figured I can sneak in a quick review of the Marriott Downtown Orlando.

I hadn’t done it in the past, but for this reservation I booked via a Priceline Express Deal. It gave me an area, an amenity list, and a suggested brand list of good brands: Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, etc. I was pretty confident we’d end up at a more than adequate hotel.

So for $160 I booked it. When I got the confirmation email it was the Marriott Downtown Hilton. I was very pleased with this. The nightly rate for that night on the Marriott site was $299 out the door, so to get it for almost half off, I was happy.

We dropped off our car with the valet, this was mandatory. There is no self park other than a city public lot that charged hourly. Sorry no pictures of that or the lobby.

Soon we checked in and we are in the room. We got a nice king room. I believe this hotel was recently renovated.

Small couch and table near the window.

TV, Desk, and small fridge.

Closet area. Usually we’d quickly unpack and hang our wedding attire, but we dressed before we left our family’s house about an hour away. This was simply a bag and car drop right now.

Nice updated and modern bathroom.

Very simple and common setup in this era of hotel. Very adequate

I still like having a real thermostat.

Coffee station, didn’t use it, but pretty standard in this type of hotel. It seems that for a few years I saw lots of Keurig style machines, but I think the cost of those has put hotels back to the old school single cup drip.

Finally the bed area. Good bed, nice end-tables with outlets on both sides. Very boring, but perfect for our quick overnight in Orlando.
