Today we’re catching an Air France flight from Nuremberg to Paris. We arrived to the Nuremberg airport about two hours before our flight back to Paris and had a little time to kill. We passed through security and then headed to the Durer Lounge here at the NUE Airport.

Usually 3rd party lounges at small airports kinda suck, but the Durer Lounge here at NUE was surprisingly great. It was also very private as for most of the time, we were the only guests. The Durer Lounge is located in the Schengen area of the airport just after security. I would gladly return to the Durer Lounge if I had some time to kill at the Nuremberg Airport.

NUE Airport

Nuremberg Airport

Since we had lots of time, we stopped by the Durer Lounge . It is a Priority Pass lounge. While I firmly believe Priority Pass is nearly a scam within North America, outside of it, it has some value. The Durer Lounge ounge is interesting, there is no lounge attendant. You simply get a pass at the information desk. Then there is a turnstile to admit yourself to the lounge.

Durer Lounge NUE Space

Durer Lounge Nuremberg

This lounge is quite small, but we were the only two people inside, so it was more than enough. It was also very clean and well stocked. We were on one of the last flights of the day from the airport, so I imagine that someone services and cleans the lounge periodically throughout the day.

Durer Lounge NUE Buffet

Durer Lounge Nuremberg Drinks

The drinks selection was good, several beers, whines, and soft drinks were available.

Durer Lounge Nuremberg Snacks

Durer Lounge Nuremberg Seats

The lounge was small, but a nice little area to sit a watch a few planes.

Durer Lounge Nuremberg View

It was Christmas time when we visited the Durer Lounge and there were some decorations.

Durer Lounge Final Thoughts

I enjoyed our quick stop here at the Durer Lounge NUE. It’s not huge, but it wasn’t busy so was very private when we visited. I liked the selection of drinks and snacks, nothing heavy but was more then enough to be enjoyable.

I wouldn’t arrive early to check out the Durer Lounge, but if you have a few spare minutes while at NUE, it’s certainly a nice way to kill the time. This is a lounge for Schengen departures so keep that in mind if you’re leaving the common area. We were soon on our Air France ERJ170 Flight to Paris.
